Cannabis Seeds use has been engrained in human culture for over ten millennia now ; although its use as a drug can only be traced back to round the year 2700 BC. Uses of marijuana have varied from country to country but , as this article is focussing on marijuana's medicinal history, I will start by taking a look at how the Chinese used the drug in the 28th century BC.
The earliest accounts of cannabis seeds being used as a drug relate to the mythological Chinese emperor Sheng Nung. As early as 2737 BC Sheng Nung was reported to have prescribed a marijuana tea to treat many medical conditions such as : hard stools, beri-beri, gout, malaria, 'absentmindedness' and rheumatism. It should be spotted that, although it's medical use was inspired, even at this time recreational cannabis use was scowled upon.
Cannabis Seeds had a particularly similar medical history in India. Very like the Chinese, the Indians encouraged the use of blow in a variety of forms to heal a complete demeanour of health issues. Contrary to the Chinese however the cannabis was entwined with faith in India, meaning its recreational use was also encouraged. Hindus originally started smoking cannabis as a strategy of augmenting concentration during prayer and to get rid of themselves from the distractions of the Earth.
It was not until many hundreds of years after that blow seeds spread to the western world. By the fifth century AD cannabis seeds had spread through the majority of Europe, where they were still primarily used to grow hemp for use in textiles, papers and canvases. It was also used for medical purposes however with many doctors noting its efficacy in treating a big selection of conditions.
In the middle of the nineteenth century marijuana finally found its way to America where it was briefly adopted as a pharmaceutical before it started to drop out of favor. The rise in chemical pharmaceuticals eventually all but stopped
cannabis seeds use as a drug as cheaper, quicker to supply and more controllable drugs flooded onto the market. Because of the nature of the plant it was virtually impossible to prescribe set dosages and the relatively long grow time meant that its use became daunted and by the 1930's it was illegal in most states everywhere.
Nowadays there is still debate about the utility of the plant as a medication. Many doctors still acknowledge its benefits and many states and countries are starting to let the expansion and use of medical marijuana.
